Hi Jalus

yes, we each have our own path to walk. And yes, a conversation is about communication. My response was to all who may read. We each take what we may.

Hi David,

I have no desire to change your view; nor anyone else's.
I only gave voice to my personal view.

As you are probably are aware ~ the sidewalk you walk on is not the sidewalk I walk on.

I am grateful for the openness of the spirit of your blog that allows this to occur.

A conversation should never end in a victory but with more enlightenment. Yes?

Humble Bow of Gratitude
Jalus

Hi Jalus

I certainly understand the need to end child abuse. And making people conscious of it is part of the process. But that must be done through awareness and education, through presenting alternatives and solutions. If we simply present what is wrong, we amplify that which we are against.

This quote may help illustrate this:
“I was once asked why I don’t participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I’ll be there.”
– Mother Teresa

There is a simple principle that what you put your attention on grows stronger. Thus, seek what you want, not what you hate.

I can also observe you highlight my point about fame. Micheal becomes the poster-boy for abuse, long after he grows up. I can ask which made his life more difficult- a father with an agenda or millions of fans with an agenda?

I am not suggesting any blame here. Just an observation that may help clarify.

Hi David,

I respect your memory of him.

However, for me ~ when I hear his music I shall always have a picture of that precious little boy, with a smile that lit up the world, being terrorized daily by the parents that were supposed to make the world safe for him.

I have chosen to speak out against child abuse. Because attention must be paid for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Same diamond ~ just a different view of facets. Yes?

Hi Jalus
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. While I would not want to be famous, I would not call him a victim or feel someone is to blame. That's just more of the media drama and our laying our stuff on him.

Perhaps a more useful model would be to consider what we might learn from the experience. I'm sure he would much rather we remember him for his music than the circus that developed around him.

What a price he paid.

His Life for our Entertainment Pleasure.

Who did this to a precious child?

Fame has a curious way of distorting our perception. It is the embodiment of illusion, our group expression of expectation, unresolved conflict, and struggle. I'm glad I'm not famous...
